Project idea (in English)

The Forest Research Institute is a Polish research and development institution with many years of experience in breeding forest trees for climate change adaptation and forest fire risk management. The Institute carries out the largest projects in the country on the selection of forest trees according to specific adaptation characteristics, develops fire protection plans for Polish forests, and is the author of the methodology for fire forecasting. By conducting research projects, the Institute influences the current and future strategy of forest management in Poland. The tasks we would like to deal with are the elaboration of guidelines for the development of fire protection for selected stands in the Roztocze Euroregion and the increase of the adaptation potential of forest tree stands to the stress caused by climate change.
