On 24th-25th October, the annual conference of the CBC Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 titled „Cross-border Warm-up” was organized in Rzeszów.

The slogan referred to the “warm-up” of the Programme – which was undoubtedly the first call for proposals including as many as 749 concept notes. A week before the conference, the Joint Monitoring Committee decided to co-finance 17 of them under the thematic objective HERITAGE. We have published the list of these projects in the news on our website. "I’m counting on the fact that the first 17 projects on common cultural and natural heritage will actually contribute to its prosperity and deepen the cooperation between our neighbors" – said Adam Hamryszczak, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economic Development, during the press meeting preceding the official opening ceremony. Rafał Baliński, Director of the Department of Territorial Cooperation at the Ministry of Economic Development, summarized the preparation and the course of the first call for proposals. He paid particular attention to the provided tools and facilities, as well as the numerous trainings and consultations that were made available to applicants for a more efficient and better preparation of proposals. On the upcoming decisions and future plans of the Programme the Head of the Joint Technical Secretariat, Paweł Słowikowski commented. He reminded everyone that on 7th December we will know the next beneficiaries, whose projects will be co-financed, this time within the thematic objectives ACCESSIBILITY and BORDERS. The decision on the winning projects for the SECURITY will be made in March 2018.

Later in the day, the participants had the opportunity to take part in a warm-up activities such as a cross-border match or a bowling competition of tripartite teams. At the end of the day a concert of multi-instrumental trio Panivalkova from Ukraine was held.

On the second day of the conference, as part of a further warm-up, the guests were divided again into tripartite teams and participated in a field game in which they had to show exceptionally good cooperation. The implementation of projects under the Programme requires from the participating institutions to communicate effectively and to have a team spirit, which, following the challenges of the first day, was enhanced by the participants in the joint resolution of riddles and tasks of the second day.
