Category: Project News

On 13th September, a conference summarizing the project “Starting centers of work with the youth in Miejsce -Piastowe and Skole – cultural and historical heritage of Rzeszów-Lviv region as the foundation of educational values of Fr. Bronisław Markiewicz” was held. The event was accompanied by the opening of the Youth Work Center in Miejsce Piastowe, which was created thanks to the support of the Programme.

Apart from the representatives of the project and the Programme, the conference was also attended by Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy (Programme Managing Authority). During the event, the project and its effects were presented.

Not only the application form for this project was rated the highest, but also what was created thanks to it, we can rate very highly and we are very happy about it - said Dr. Leszek Buller, Director of the Center of European Projects.

The conference was accompanied by an artistic presentation of the project's achievements. The participants of the theatrical workshops, organized as part of this cross-border initiative, presented a performance entitled "You heard a whisper”. The event’s guests had also the opportunity to visit an exhibition of icons and photographs made by students.

We want to educate young people - both Polish and Ukrainian - and young people are best brought up through work. We want the work done here to have an impact on how these young people will develop, how they will shape our future and our reality – emphasized Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak.

The Youth Work Centre created in Miejsce Piastowe will serve young people from Poland and Ukraine who want to develop and integrate through work and culture. The facility has a 150-seat auditorium, conference rooms and 22 double guest rooms. It is fully adapted for the needs of people with disabilities. At the same time, thanks to the project, the parish in Skole (Ukraine) is building the Center for Culture and History, which is also to be a meeting place for young people of the borderland.
