Project description

Uzhhorod rayon and Rzeszów poviat have a common rich cultural heritage, especially traditional arts and crafts, opportunities for active tourism. They also face similar challenges, such as insufficient economic development and a low level of tourist inflow, which could be solved by the targeted promotion.

The development of a tourist brand with an easily recognizable logo of the districts is a key element of BRAND project. In this way, the project partners want to communicate the unique values of their areas and encourage visitors to discover them. In order to collect the best logo concepts, open competition will be announced. Competition commissions will include designers, ethnographers, and tourism industry experts from both countries. At the first stage, the best concepts will be selected to be finalized at the second stage during the Creative Laboratory under the guidance of creative industry professionals. This format will ensure the involvement of local people in the process and increase public awareness about the project. Through the project activities, a new image of the target areas as unique tourist destinations will be shaped. It will be represented visually in the albums-catalogs and promotional videos. Also, two large-scale cross-border events entitled “EXPO BRAND” will be organized in Uzhhorod and Rzeszów to promote the areas and their cultural heritage. Traditional crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving, woodcarving, pottery, embroidery, painting, etc. will be represented during the exhibition, which will join together the artisans from both countries and encourage visitors to try their hand at crafts.

Thanks to the project, the cross-border areas of Ukraine and Poland will become more recognizable and more attractive for visitors, which will increase their competitiveness and encourage socio-economic and cultural development. It will also raise the interest in local culture and traditions both among local people and visitors.
