Project description

Western regions of Ukraine provide shelter to refugees and relocated entrepreneurs from regions affected by Russian aggression. The conflict is still ongoing and as a result with each passing week the situation of the entire country deteriorates, which has impact on greater intensity of migration of people towards the European Union. In these areas, one of the main challenges for the health service, including emergency medical services is to provide the conditions for an immediate response to health and life hazards. These difficulties result in limited access to resources such as emergency vehicles, insufficient amount of specialist equipment and medical assortment.

The implementation of the L4U project was a response to the real needs of the western regions of Ukraine. Thanks to this, Ukrainian health services were supported in improving the provision of care for Ukrainian citizens in emergency situations. The Polish representative of the project purchased and delivered 4 ambulances, 4 power generators, 320 clip ties and 320 multi bandage dressing to the regions of Lviv, Volyn, Rivne and Zakarpattia. The medical vehicles, specialised equipment and medical assortment were delivered directly to medical facilities in Ukraine in cooperation with the local state administrations: Lviv, Volyn, Rivne and Zakarpattia. Project activities were promoted in the local press, social media and the project representative's website.

The implementation of the L4U project will support victims of war on both sides of the Polish-Ukrainian border. Its effects will ensure access to immediate response to health and life threats and strengthen the energy security of Ukrainian citizens.
